HyperSource includes a utility (written by Bill Croft and Bill Palmer) 
that converts bibliographies in UNIX 'refer' format to a HyperSource-readable form. Here's the procedure:

1.  Put the input file (i.e., the one in 'refer' format) in the same folder as
      the conversion utility (called "refer2hc").
2.  Launch refer2hc and type a command of the following form on the
      command line:   < foo.bib > foo.hc
      (The '<' and '>' must be included).
3.  The file foo.hc is now ready to be imported to HyperSource, using
      the "Import" button. (Note: if HyperSource tells you it can't find
      foo.hc, try specifying the full pathname of the file).
